SUSTAINABLE TIP OF THE MONTH

BREW YOUR OWN JOE

Save time and money by making your coffee at home this weekend. Not only are you cutting down on emissions, but you’re also reducing the waste from plastic and paper packaging from coffee cups, straws, stirrer and lids.

Extra credit: Brew with local coffee beans from a local coffee shop, cafe, artisanal store or farmer’s market.

BUSINESS MEMBER HIGHLIGHT Spirit AeroSystems

Spirit Aerosystems' sustainability team has implemented upgrades in their efforts to promote environmental responsibility. One notable achievement was replacing outdated 1000-watt metal halide lights in their parking lots with energy-efficient 125-watt LED lights.

Furthermore, Spirit Aerosystems adopted Mill Creek, situated inside McClure Park, as part of their "Adopt a Stream" initiative. Demonstrating their commitment, the company ensures the cleanliness of the area by conducting thorough cleanups every April and September.
